The bhoomikeralam – most ambitious project of Government of Kerala, formulated to complete the resurvey of the State, touching the lives of every land holder. A mammoth project implemented by the new special purpose vehicle set up by the Government--- the Kerala Land Information Mission, plans to complete the resurvey of the State in 3-5 years, which was started some 43 years ago, still remains incomplete. The conventional chain-cross staff/theodolite methodology is replaced by the most modern hybrid techniques- a combine of aerial photogrammetry and ground survey using modern survey equipments ……. |

Study report on Photogrammtery at Palakkad |
The Bhoomikeralam Project plans to use aerial photgrammetry to survey and generate maps of atleast 20 to 30 % of the total revenue land. as part of studying and understanding the efficacy of the method, a study was conducted in association with Survey of India on 3rd March 2009 in Mathur Village of Palakkad using 1:10000 scale analogue mono-chromatic aerial photos taken and orthorectified by the SOI. The results were satisfactory in terms of accuracy, cost effectiveness and speed of the method. The report and along with the comparative statement given to the Govt recommended further studies and also for sanctioning preliminary arrangements for capturing aerial photos. The measurements are given in the maps attached herewith." |
